Huipil Bag - Large Half Moon Patzun Flowers 11 ***SOLD***
This bag was made by the Mayans, recycled out of the beautiful hand-woven and embroidered traditional clothing known as huipils. Each village has a unique style of embroidery. Patzun has a very distinctive style with embroidered flowers usually done on a handwoven deep red cotton with a many colored stripe. The women take great pride in their individual flower designs. The bag comes with a tag explaining it's origin and the town that it's from. Note: Size 14" x 13" not including fringe, this bag has an outside pocket formed by the neck of the huipil and a wonderful woven ikat fabric on the back in salmon and black with touches of pink metallic thread woven into the design. beautiful embroidery in good vintage condition. I have a pair of these that are very similar
