Huipil - Pocket Bag Chajul Bird ***SOLD***
These bags were made by the Mayans, recycled out of the beautiful hand-woven and embroidered traditional clothing known as huipils. Each village has a unique style of embroidery, Chajul huipils tend to have very primitive designs often depicting horses and birds embroidered on simple hand woven cotton backgrounds. Every bag is a one-of-a-kind piece of folk art and comes with a tag explaining its origin and the town that it's from. Huipil bags are made from older and sometimes vintage materials and sometimes have worn spots and loose threads. This should not be seen as as a defect. This particular bag is quite worn and soft and has discolored areas. There are a pair of these with birds cut from the same huipil.Size 8" x 7"
