This is a huipil bag from the Mayan village of Joyabaj in Guatemala. The back of the bag is handwoven in a primitive ikat design from part of a corte or skirt. The separate pocket in the front is framed by what would have been the collar of the huipil, Size 9" x 9 3/4"
