Huipil Bag - Small Square Chichicastenango Flowers 9
These bags were made by the Mayans, recycled out of the beautiful hand-woven and embroidered traditional clothing known as huipils. Each village has a unique style of embroidery. Every bag is a one-of-a-kind piece of folk art and comes with a tag explaining its origin and the town that it's from. I have a pair of these bags from the town of Chichicastenango. The embroidered panel of flowers is set into and backed with handwoven ikat fabric that would be used for the Mayan woman's corte or skirt. Fully lined and zippered with adjustable strap. Size 9" x 8 1/2"
