Huipil Pillow - Chajul Blue Horses ***SOLD***
This throw-pillow cover is made from a Mayan woman's huipil, or blouse. It comes with a pillow insert (not shown here) and a tag explaining its origin and the town that it's from. This pillow is one-of-a-kind. When it's gone, it's gone. The huipil used in this cushion cover is hand woven cotton from the Mayan town of Chajul and shows the stylized, primitive bird and horse designs that are depicted in virtually all of the huipils from this village. The backing for this pillow is made from a hand woven cotton that was part of a woman's skirt or corte. It is woven in a colorful ikat design.
