Huipil Pillow - Pattern 2
This throw-pillow cover is made from a Mayan woman's huipil, or blouse. The surrounding fabric is made from a traditional skirt or corte hand-woven with an ikat design. The pillow comes with an insert (not shown here) and a tag explaining it's origin. We're not sure what town this one is from but the embroidery pattern is very intricate and colorful. You can see a bit of the heavily flowered embroidery that would have accented the collar in the top left corner of the pillow. We have a pair of these pillows from the same huipil but when they're gone, they're gone. Size 18" x 18"
