Huipil Pillow - Pattern 6 ***SOLD***
This throw-pillow cover is made from a Mayan woman's huipil, or blouse. The surrounding fabric is made from a traditional skirt or corte hand-woven with an ikat design. The pillow comes with an insert (not shown here) and a tag explaining it's origin. We're not sure what town this one is from but the embroidery pattern is very intricate and colorful. You can see a bit of the heavy embroidery that would have accented the collar in the top left corner of the pillow. This one is unusual because it shows a little person in the design (shown in the close-up picture). It's one-of-a-kind. When it's gone, it's gone. Size 18" x 18"
