Huipil Pillow - Primitive Doves ***SOLD***
This is the sweetest pillow cover with free hand machine embroidery virtually covering the white eyelet material underneath with doves and bright flowers. The throw-pillow cover is made from a Mayan woman's huipil, or blouse. The pink bordered square in the center would have been the neck of the huipil and it has been filled in with decorative motif patches from the same shirt. The fabric on the back of the pillow is made from a traditional skirt or corte handwoven in an ikat design. The pillow comes with a tag explaining it's origin. This pillow is one-of-a-kind. When it's gone, it's gone. Size 20" x 20" , zippered on the back for an 18" insert.
