Huipil Bag - Large Square Chichicastenango Symbols ***SOLD***
This bag was made by the Mayans, recycled out of the beautiful hand-woven and embroidered traditional clothing known as huipils. Each village has a unique style of embroidery.There is an outside pocket framed by what would have been the neckline of the huipil with the traditional embroidery which represents the sun. This bag is in beautiful condition with a heavily brocaded embroidered design and just some wear around the neckline pocket. The bag comes with a tag explaining its origin and the town that it's from. It's one-of-a-kind. When it's gone, it's gone. Size 14" x 12 1/2" not including the fringe.
