Huipil Bag - Medium Half Moon Patzun Calendar Bag ***SOLD***
These bags are made from huipils or women's shirts from the Mayan village of Patzun. Patzun huipils are beautifully embroidered, usually with flowers on a handwoven cotton dark red striped fabric but this Patzun bag is done in the feathers and calendar style which often depicts characters from the Mayan calendar in the squares circling the neck. In this example the characters have been replaced with primitive flowers, animals and butterflies. The neckline of the huipil forms a roomy pocket on the front of the bag and the back is a wonderful ikat design. Zippers shut - Size 11" x 11" not including fringe.
