Huipil - Large Crescent Bag Violets ...SOLD...

A large handbag size bag with a wide shorter strap, the crescent bag tucks nicely under your arm. Our crescent bags are made from huipils or women's shirts from the Mayan village of Patzun. Patzun huipils are beautifully embroidered with flowers on a handwoven cotton dark red striped fabric. The neck of the huipil forms an unlined outside pocket on the front of the bag and there is a small zippered pocket inside. This one has been embroidered in sunset colors of lilac, rose and peach. Beautiful twisted thread flowers have been worked around the neck. There are a couple of small areas of wear in the embroidery. Size 17" x 10 1/2" not including the strap.
