Huipil - Patzun Pocket Bag Flowers 11 ***SOLD***
Huipil bags are made from the beautifully handwoven and embroidered blouses or huipils worn in the traditional Mayan villages. Each is one-of-a-kind. This pocket bag comes from the village of Patzun where the huipils are usually made with beautifully hand embroidered flowers on a hand'woven dark red striped fabric. This huipil was unusual for Patzun as the flowers have been embroidered on a heavy handwoven striped fabric which is predominately brown.
Each woman has her own unique flower pattern and they wear their artistry with pride. This little pocket bag zippers closed and has an outside pocket where the neckline would have been. It comes with a tag explaining its origin. Size 8" x 7 1/2" Note that this bag is made from a beautifully embroidered but well-worn huipil so there are signs of wear in the embroidery.
