Huipil - Pocket Bag Patzun Flowers 14 ***SOLD***
Huipil bags are made from the beautifully handwoven and embroidered blouses or huipils worn in the traditional Mayan villages. Each is one-of-a-kind. I have a pair of these pocket bags, one from each side of the shirt. They come from the village of Patzun where the huipils are made with beautifully hand embroidered flowers on a hand'woven dark red striped fabric. Each woman has her own unique flower pattern and they wear their artistry with pride. These little pocket bags zipper closed and have an outside pocket where the neckline would have been. They come with a tag explaining their origin. Size 8 1/2" x 7 1/4" Note that these bags are made from a beautifully embroidered but well-worn huipil so there are signs of wear in the embroidery and in the woven fabric itself giving it a lovely soft vintage look.
