Mayan Huipil Pillow - Zunil Animals ***SOLD***

This throw-pillow cover is made from a Mayan woman's huipil, or blouse. The surrounding fabric is made from a traditional skirt or corte hand-woven with an ikat design. The pillow comes with a tag explaining it's origin. Designs from Zunil are bright and colorful, mostly worked in free hand machine embroidery and depicting animals or flowers. This one is a great example. Zippered back, it takes an 18" x 18" insert
