Corte Bag - Large with Pocket 3 ***SOLD***
A corte is the long woven tube of material that Mayan women wear as a skirt. This bag is a patchwork of cortes, mostly handwoven on a foot loom, 100% cotton and indigo dyed. There is a large pocket on the front made from a Mayan woman's huipil or shirt. Hand woven and embroidered in the town of Chichicastenango, it has a bright flower design. The brightly colored embroidered band has been patched from a faja or belt.
The corte bag has a 3" wide long strap for comfort, and a zipper closure. The main body of the purse is fully lined and has a zippered pocket inside. Size 13 1/2" x 16"
