Mayan Huipil Pillow - Pattern 11 ***SOLD***

This throw-pillow cover is made from a Mayan woman's huipil, or blouse. The embroidery that you can see in one corner would have been part of the collar around the neck of the shirt. The rest of the pillow is covered in an intricate embroidered pattern of symbolic design. The surrounding fabric is made from a traditional skirt or corte hand-woven with an ikat design. The pillow comes with a tag explaining it's origin. It has a zippered back and takes an 18" x 18" insert.
